Are phone repairs tax deductible?
A common question we are asked is, are phone repairs tax deductible? The simple answer is yes, if you use your phone for work, business or income purposes. The Australian Tax Office says “You can claim a tax deduction for expenses relating to repairs, maintenance or replacement of machinery, tools or premises you use to produce business income, as long as the expenses are not capital expenses. A capital expense is money spent to purchase assets like plant and equipment.” read more at the official ATO website here.
